Dewars

A Dewar is a double-walled, vacuum insulated container used to store liquified gases.

Dewars are used to provide cryogenic liquid storage, treatment, delivery, and even as a vessel to bring sensitive electronics or other equipment to cryogenic temperatures. Like many of our other products, dewars are insulated by an extremely low vacuum, multiple layers of super-insulation, and gettering to provide superior thermal performance.

Dewars are manufactured in our Brazil, Indiana facility using either aluminum or stainless steel. They are TIG or MIG welded on custom designed automatic welding units or manually by one of our specially trained welders. Every weld is inspected for aesthetic consistency and then vacuum leak tested using a helium mass spectrometer to as low as 2 x 10^-10 cc/sec sensitivity for leakage.
